Throughout winter people prefer day drip options that are inside, where they can enjoy nature but not necessarily have to endure freezing temperatures.
One very popular option is East Somerset Railway Company in the village of Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet. Passengers are transported back in time as you sip your champagne and delight in the old steam engines, and you can revel in the stunning vistas without having to wrap up warm.
The afternoon tea includes quaint finger sandwiches, homemade cakes and fancies and sparkling champagne. You will feel like a character out of an Agatha Christie movie as you move back in time to enjoy this beautiful, leisurely ride aboard a steam train.

The railway company offers lots of events and experiences, including special days out for children. It is one of the very few steam railways where you can visit the engine shed and workshop, and there is a newly refurbished museum in Cranmore where you can see the history of this great little Somerset railway company.
There is also a shop and Whistlestop cafe with a good range of food and drink so you won't go hungry if you decide to stay longer, reports Somerset Live.
Unsurprisingly the attraction has rave reviews on TripAdvisor. One person wrote: "Had a great day at Easy Somerset Railway, such a friendly bunch of people running this place. A chance to have a nostalgic ride in a steam engine pulled train."
