The impressive Celtic numbers across board as Ange Postecoglou closes in on back to back titles

Celtic are closing in on the Premiership title with hopes of a domestic Treble alive and kicking.

Ange Postecoglou's men moved 12 points clear of Rangers at the league summit last time out as his defending champions came out on top in a five-goal thriller at Parkhead. Kyogo Furuhashi - as he has done so often this season - netted a double while Jota was also on target for the home side with Light Blues skipper James Tavernier grabbing two of his own to make it 100 goals for the Ibrox side.

Like last season, the Hoops won the first domestic trophy on offer this season in the shape of the League Cup after defeating Rangers at Hampden Park. Both sides return to the same stage at the end of the month in the Scottish Cup semi-final and should the Hoops defeat Michael Beale for a third successive Old Firm - they will be heavy favourites to go on and complete a domestic clean sweep with Falkirk or Inverness awaiting in the season finale.

Celtic's relentless charge towards the Premiership title once again has been backed up by impressive numbers across the board. They lead the goal scoring charts with Kyogo on 22 league goals, four ahead of nearest rival Lawrence Shankland at Hearts. Jota and Liel Abada are both also in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.

On the assists front it is Matt O'Riley who leads the way in the Premiership. He is one who has found it harder to get recent minutes due to the form of Aaron Mooy but was impressive in the recent derby and has laid on 11 goals for his team.

Again, Jota ranks high on the list in second with 10 while Australian Mooy is in third with 9. David Turnbull and Reo Hatate also feature at the top end of the chart with six apiece behind a clutch of Rangers players with Borna Barisic and Ryan Kent providing eight assists and Fashion JR on 7.

It's no surprise to learn that Celtic's No1 Joe Hart is the top goalkeeper with 14 clean sheets from his 31 league outings.

The Hoops are also set to smash through the 100 goal barrier with the table toppers currently on 98 league goals so far this season with SEVEN games to play. For context, Rangers are second in the charts with 76. When it comes to goals conceded Celtic are once again the team coming out on top with just 23 making them the meanest defence.

It's been a hugely impressive domestic campaign for Celtic with just one defeat and one draw alongside 29 wins to date. That sees the Hoops on 88 points with 21 still to play for.

Victory in the final seven games would give them a tally of 109 points and create another new record while just 12 out of the run-in would see them reach the 100 mark.
