If you've ever dreamed of running your own pub, now could be your chance - a picturesque pub with some of the best views in Wales is looking for a new landlord. The Lawrenny Arms is located right on the Cleddau estuary on the Milford Haven waterway in an idyllic waterside location recently named one of the best places to live in Wales, while National Trust-owned woodland rises up behind the pub.
The historic pub is also affectionately known as 'The Dog House' in reference to its role as dog kennel to the Lawrenny Foxhounds in the latter part of the 19th century. For the last 15 years, the pub has been run by Theresa and Steve Adams, who have built its reputation for home-cooked food and good beer.
During lockdown, Steve kept the pub kitchen open to serve a selection of meals out of the back door of for locals to take home, while the pub also hosts a monthly lunch club for elderly residents in the village to meet up for a hot meal and a chat.

Now, however, the pair are on the hunt for a new tenant to take over ownership of the beloved pub, which serves the local community, Lawrenny Yacht Club, the adjacent holiday park and more. Lawrenny Quay Holiday Park Manager John Edmunds said: “We feel so lucky to have had such fantastic tenants for so many years.
"Now we are on the search to find the people to continue their amazing work and write the next chapter in the history of The Lawrenny Arms! This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to not only work, but live, in this spectacular location. We are so lucky to be surrounded by water, wildlife and woodland here. This is a chance to run a prosperous business as well as living in a dream location.”
Lawrenny was named among the best villages to live in a list of 50 across the UK by the Sunday Times last year. Following the village making the list, Steve spoke to WalesOnline about how he was "smitten" with Lawrenny when he first took over the pub. He said: "When the water is in and the sun is out, there's nowhere finer."
The pub offers spacious living accommodation, as well as a bar, restaurant area, modern catering kitchen, all the usual storage areas, and a spacious waterside patio area. It also has use of its own pontoon, allowing customers to travel to it by boat as well as road. Lawrenny Quay Holiday Park are now taking expressions of interest for the tenancy.
