The Hundred: Mohammad Hasnain signs for Oval Invincibles as bowling action declared legal

Oval Invincibles have signed the exciting Pakistan quick Mohammad Hasnain for this summer’s men’s Hundred on the day his action was declared legal once more.

Hasnain, 22, has had to remodel his action after being called for having too much flex earlier this year, but has now been cleared to bowl.

Invincibles have now selected him in the Hundred’s first overseas wildcard draft, while London Spirit have selected Australia’s Ben McDermott who is currently playing for Hampshire.

A wide selection of players have been picked up by the eight teams, with Welsh Fire selecting 17-year-old Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad, and Birmingham Phoenix going for Imran Tahir, the 43-year-old former South African international.

In the women’s competition, both London teams selected New Zealanders. Spirit opted for Jess Kerr, while Oval Invincibles chose Suzie Bates. Phoenix picked up India’s Deepti Sharma.

The competition gets underway on August 3 with the group stage culminating at the end of that month before an eliminator and finals day.
