Not that it was really all that necessary, but Joel Piroe nevertheless offered us all a timely reminder of his goalscoring prowess over the weekend.
The Dutchman popped up 10 minutes before half-time to give his side the lead, breaking an admittedly admirable Haverfordwest County resistance to set the Swans up for their first pre-season win of the summer.
His inclusion in Michael Duff's first Swans XI, and his first goal of the summer, came against a backdrop of speculation that is getting increasingly intense with each passing week.
Just hours before the 23-year-old took to the field at Fairwood, news emerged that Serie A side Atalanta had stepped up their pursuit of the striker, with several others in the Championship and Premier League also in the picture.
At the time of writing, no-one has yet put a formal bid on the table, but it seems increasingly likely Piroe will be sold before the close of the window.
Atalanta will know all too well how that feels. The Italian side are braced to lose a their own star striker this summer, with Manchester United showing strong interest in 20-year-old Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane is hot property at the moment, having scored 16 goals in all competitions last season.
A £50million move has been mooted with personal terms said to be agreed and, should it go through, it would surely prick up the ears of the Swans, who will be keen to ensure they get the best-possible price for a forward who has netted more than 40 goals in two seasons in the Championship.
Most Swans fans, while recognising the blow from a footballing perspective, are at peace with losing Piroe. But the blow will certainly be a hell of a lot softer if the Swans can negotiate a tidy sum that can then be reinvested into Duff's plans for the team.
The valuation last summer was £20million, and the general feeling is the Swans will likely struggle to reach that number now.
Then again, the £20million sale of Coventry City's Viktor Gyokeres to Sporting Lisbon, who like Piroe has just one year left on his current deal, perhaps shows such numbers can yet be reached.
An Atalanta side with £50million burning in their pocket certainly does little to go against that, particularly if competitors step up interest and spark a bidding war, which is surely the ideal scenario from a Swans point of view.
Reports linking Atalanta with a loan move for Mason Greenwood might just complicate the picture, mind. It certainly feels too early for Swansea to count on the Serie A as buyers at this stage. Then again, you could say that about any of Piroe's suitors at this stage.
But despite Paul Watson's assurances that the club don't need to sell in order to strengthen in this window, it feels like a bumper cash injection from selling a player like Piroe will go a long way to turbocharging their summer plans.
Whether that cash comes from Italy, remains to be seen.
