Footage from the area shows the car completely engulfed in flames and left on the grass at the park next to a main road, as a video captures parts flying from the inferno and landing on the turf.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue mobilised two appliances to the scene shortly before 10pm and extinguished the blaze before leaving the scene ensuring that it was safe. They also confirmed there were no reported injuries.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted to a car alight in the Sighthill area at 21:47 on Saturday, November 5. Two appliances from the area were mobilised to extinguish the fire and there were no reported injuries."
Elsewhere, groups of youths in the Niddrie area were seen aiming fireworks and projectiles at cars, people and even an ambulance. Shocking footage shows dozens of people standing on a main road while fireworks are set off in the background.
Cars can be seen stopping to avoid the chaos as a huge bonfire was also lit in the middle of the road as balaclava-wearing bikers sped through the streets aiming fireworks at people and vehicles.
One ambulance was struck by a bottle containing a flammable substance but fortunately there were no reported injuries as a result.
