It's been three years, but the Hoppings is nearly back.
The familiar summer sight of funfair rides taking shape on Newcastle's Town Moor returned today for the first time since 2019. The Hoppings has a new operator, Crow Events, who pledge to bring some of Europe's “biggest, fastest and wildest rides” to Newcastle's annual fair, along with street food, a bar and a new payment system.
Operators are busy setting up rides and stalls ahead of the 2022 Hoppings opening on Friday June 17. By then, more than 450 attractions will be open at the fair.

Ryan Crow, of Crow Events, said the team is very excited to be bringing the event back home. “This will be the first time The Hoppings has been at the Town Moor since 2019 and we’ve been working tirelessly to bring the most fantastic line-up of some of Europe’s top attractions,” he said.
“We know people will have really missed it and so we’re determined to make this year one that everyone will really remember.”
The Hoppings will be open from June 17 until Saturday June 25.
