The Holiday 'due for sequel next year' with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Jude Law 'all signed up'

Seventeen years after The Holiday was released, a sequel is said to be in the works. The festive classic, released in 2006, stars Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jack Black and Jude Law, with the feel good rom-com a must-watch for many every December.

The Holiday sees two women swap homes during the festive period - with Iris staying in Amanda's fancy Los Angeles pad while Amanda retreats to Iris' country escape in the south of England.

Both are looking for a change of pace to their lives after suffering relationship woess, but end up finding themselves falling in love in each other's worlds - with Amanda falling for Iris' brother Graham and Iris finding love with Amanda's colleague, Miles, writes Leicestershire Live.

But fans are still wondering what became of couples Amanda (Diaz) and Graham (Law) and Iris (Winsley) and Miles (Black) all these years later. Well, they may not need to wonder for much longer.

According to an insider, the original cast of the film are going to reunite for a sequel next year. The source said that all four Hollywood stars have signed up to start filming the hit film's predecessor in 2023.

They told The Sun : "The plan is to start rolling on scenes next year, primarily in the UK and in Europe, but the main talent are all signed up and on board. It's one of the most successful movies of its kind and still enjoyed every year by millions of fans around the world

"It makes perfect sense to revisit those characters and find out what became of their lives after they hooked up It'll be funny, poignant, and heartwarming - just what everyone wants for Christmas."

The original cost £70million to make but went on to be a huge success at the box office, making over £200million.
