The hidden Sky Glass feature that lets you track Santa

Launched in 2021, the innovative Sky Glass streaming service brings together a wealth of options to enhance your viewing pleasure, and we love it.

Sleek and modern, the TV with built-in entertainment offers instant access to Freeview and Sky channels including Sky Showcase, Sky History and Sky Atlantic, as well as live sports fixtures and blockbusters on Sky Cinema, with on-demand boxsets from HBO, and streaming services including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+ in a single package.

Without the need for messy cables or satellite dishes, the service runs through your WiFi making it easy to use, and with packages starting from £36 a month for both the TV and basic streaming options, Sky Glass is an affordable way to watch the very best TV.

Just in time for Christmas, the service has some brand-new additions for the festive season, including a “Where’s Santa?” Tracker that will keep the little ones entertained while you get ready for Christmas.

Using the voice control feature, excited children can watch the countdown to Christmas day, and on Christmas Eve you can track the big man himself as he makes his way towards your chimney.

By using easy commands like “where’s Santa right now?” or “follow Santa” you can see exactly where he is in real time.

Busy parents can pop on a Christmas flick or two, that will keep the kids amused while you trim the turkey. This year, younger viewers can enjoy some of the best Christmas shows and films out there, simply by asking the voice control to find shows suitable for “the little elves” themselves.

The streaming service is offering a wide range of festive treats for grown-ups too.

Sign up to SKY VIP and you can claim six months free Apple TV+, or settle down and watch some of the newest additions to the streaming service including How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Love Actually free from the Sky Store between December, 5 to 31.

For Sky TV customers there is lots of lovely free entertainment, movies and sport available for Christmas, regardless of your TV package.

Unwrap the Christmas treats and grab a seat on the sofa to binge your way through films such as Elf, The Polar Express or A Boy Called Christmas, or get stuck into Christmas specials including A League of Their Own Christmas Special 2022 or Rob & Romesh vs Christmas on Ice, and two Premiere scripted Originals, Christmas Carole, and Red Riding Hood: After Ever After.

Making scrolling more fun than ever, Sky Glass lets you find the film of your choice by simply quoting some of the most famous lines from your best-loved films.

Just say "Santa! I know him" into the voice control feature to enjoy all the fun of Buddy the Elf (New Line Cinema)

Say “Santa” I know him” and the joys of Will Ferrell’s Elf will be ready for you, or holler “Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal” to take you to Kevin and his housebound adventures in Home Alone.

There are also matches from the English Football League to enjoy on Boxing Day as well as the World Darts Championship on December, 27.

As an extra treat for the festive season Sky Talk customers can enjoy free UK and International calls on Christmas Day and Sky Mobile customers can send their festive greetings to all of their friends with free mobile data on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
