A restaurant near Bristol has been named in The Good Food Guide's top 20 for 2022, which has selected the most exciting restaurants in Britain. While our city failed to get a mention this year, a restaurant just an hour's drive away has taken the number 7 spot, beating London venues.
Osip in Bruton, Somerset, is a small farm-to-table restaurant that took the decision to remove menus from its dining experiences so "guests can come and put their faith in the kitchen", its website reads. The kitchen prides itself on using the freshest ingredients that are gathered on the very same day that they serve to diners.
Recent dishes shared on its Instagram page feature hand-dived scallops and fig leaf ice-cream. Osip offers a lunch menu (£59) or six courses (£95) and at dinner, there is a choice of six courses (£95) or nine courses for £125 per head. It caters to all dietary requirements with advance warning.

Elsewhere in the south west, Outlaws New Road in Cornwall was placed just ahead of Osip. The seafood restaurant in Port Isaac uses ingredients that celebrate the Cornish coastline.
The Good Food Guide named four restaurants in the capital in its top 20 list and two in Birmingham, the latter of which was also named the most exciting food destination of the year. You can see the full list below
