All eyes will be on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium once the January transfer window opens for business. Following two outstanding purchases in the winter market with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski coming in and transforming the team, more will be expected from the club this time around.
The first part of the campaign has highlighted that much more needs to be done to strengthen Antonio Conte's Tottenham squad, with an injection of quality required to ensure that the Lilywhites seal a top-four finish once again. Incomings won't be the only thing on Fabio Paratici's Tottenham list as there are a number of players currently at the club who need to move on for regular first-team football elsewhere.
The Lilywhites may also want to take a look at their players out on loan and assess whether a loan move elsewhere would be more beneficial. Tottenham have done this numerous times in the past as their loan deals have tended to include recall clauses, with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Troy Parrott and Jack Clarke all heading back to N17 and then moving on to other clubs during previous January windows.

Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon could fall into this category having made no impact at Sampdoria and Atletico Madrid respectively. Both have been hit by injury since departing Spurs, with the Spaniard the only one of the duo to take to the field after playing 21 minutes in one La Liga match.
Giovani Lo Celso is another player currently playing his football in La Liga after rejoining Villarreal on loan in the middle of August with a permanent switch not materialising. football.london reported at the time of his exit that his loan deal contains a break clause for Spurs in January to end the loan if they receive a bid from someone in that window and the player agrees to the move.
In the latest episode of their podcast Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham, our Spurs correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss the loan situation with the January window opening in less than a month. As well as debating what happens in the loan market, the pair also discuss the Tottenham players returning to training, Dane Scarlett's FA Cup woes and the debate surrounding Harry Kane's place in the England World Cup team.
