The Game Awards 2024 is Here: Which Games Won the Biggest Awards for the Year?

The Game Awards 2024 is officially underway, and fans are tuning in to see which games will win which awards and are awaiting new game announcements.

The event is arguably one of the biggest gaming events of the year and features a variety of high-profile titles. These include Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong, Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and many more.

Winners of Various Awards

The Best Performance award was given to Melina Juergens for her work in voicing Senua in Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. For Innovation in Accessibility, Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown took home the win.

The Games for Impact award went to Neva, which is a visually stunning and emotional game by Nomada Studio.

The Best VR/AR Game award was given to Batman: Arkham Shadow, and the Best Action Game award went to Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong, according to IGN.

Bandai Namco takes home the Best Fighting Game award with Tekken 8, while Team Asobi expectedly wins Best Family Game with its adorable Astro Bot. The Best Esports Game award went to League of Legends.

The latter is followed by Lee Sang-hyeok, also known as Faker, who won Best Esports Athlete while his team, T1, won Best Esports Team. Another expected victory is Grand Theft Auto VI, which is the Most Anticipated Game.

More Awards Given Out

Arrowhead Game Studios' Helldivers 2 was able to take home the Best Multiplayer Game award. Larian Studios won the Best Community Support award for Baldur's Gate 3. Metaphor: ReFantazio received the Best Art Direction award, Games Radar said.

Legendary video game creator Hideo Kojima also took to the stage and announced more winners of other awards. Team Asobi's Astro Bot took home the Best Game Direction award.

Arguably the most important for this event is the Game of the Year award, and the nominees are Astro Bot, Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Team Asobi took home the major victory at The Game Awards 2024 with Astro Bot being dubbed the Game of the Year.

Game Announcements

On top of the various awards, the event also saw the reveal and announcement of various titles and upcoming projects. The first was Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, which was given a Summer 2025 release window.

Another notable title is Slay the Spire 2, which is getting an early access release in 2025, while Dave the Diver In The Jungle is coming out late next year.

CD Projekt Red also officially announced The Witcher 4, much to the delight of fans of the franchise, according to Push Square.
