Educators and all with an interest in history are invited to view a livestream of "History Teaching In 21st Century Education". The seminar takes place at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre, Boromratchonnanee Road, today from 8am to 5.30pm and tomorrow from 9am to 3.30pm.
Organised by Seameo Regional Centre in Archaeology and Fine Arts in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the two-day seminar aims to equip history teachers with the knowledge and tools required to foster critical thinking as well as better engage students in learning about history through the use of integrated content.
Renowned historian Prof Sunait Chutintaranond will deliver a keynote speech, "Interesting Ways To Teach History", today at 9am. The event's official opening ceremony takes place tomorrow at 9am and will be presided over by Education Minister Treenuch Thienthong.
It will be followed by a keynote speech on "Background Of Thai History Teaching And Guidelines On Knowledge Transfer" by historian Prof Srisak Wanlipodom.
Around 100 history teachers and educators in Thailand will attend the seminar onsite with another 500 schools nationwide attending via Zoom.
The seminar will be conducted in Thai with a concurrent live broadcast on facebook.com/sac.anthropology, as well as a live broadcast with English translation through facebook.com/seameo.spafa.
