Disney is making iconic Nineties film The Full Monty into a TV series – and here’s a first look.
The channel have released the first images from the new show, which will see many of the original cast from the 1997 movie reunite 25 years on.
Set in Sheffield, the hit British film follows a group of six unemployed steel workers who form a male striptease act.
It ends with iconic scenes of the group going for the ‘full monty’ – full nudity – with their other halves cheering them on.
The Full Monty is one of the most successful British films ever raking in over £50 million at the box office and scooping an Oscar for its music.
Now fans can relieve the film again when the new series hits Disney+ later this year.
Robert Carlyle, now 62, will reprise the role of Gary ‘Gaz’ Schofield, who was the leader of the group in the original film.
Viewers will also see the return of Steve Huison, 60, as Lomper, Paul Barber, 71, as Horse, and Tom Wilkinson, 75, as well-endowed Gerald Cooper.
Gaz’s former co-worker Dave will once again be played by Mark Addy, 58, and joined by actress Lesley Sharp, 63, who played his wife.
Will Snape, who was just 11 when he played Gaz’s son Nathan in the film, will reprise his role.
In the latest stills from the new series, the 38-year-old is seen dressed as a police officer.
While his dad is pictured looking more like Frank Gallagher from Shameless in a green parka covered in pigeons.
‘Horse’ – now in a mobility scooter – is seen driving on what looks like a motorway in front of a lorry in another funny snap.
Another shot shows the lads – including Dave, Gerard and Horse - back together in a cafe, no doubt planning some scheme.
Oddball Lomper is seen looking out of binoculars in another photo released by Disney.
One person who won’t be returning to The Full Monty series is actor Hugo Speer, who played Guy.
The 54-year-old was due to be part of the reboot but was fired with ‘immediate effect’ after allegedly exposing himself to a female crew member on set.
The woman, who is in her 20s, said she was asked to knock on the married actor's door and he answered without any clothes on and beckoned her inside.
Speer is said to have been reported to bosses on set, who took immediate action and terminated his contract.
A spokesperson for Disney+ told the Mirror: “Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Hugo Speer on the set of a commissioned production.
"As is policy, an investigation was launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his contract, with immediate effect."
Dad-of-two Speer denied the claims and allegedly told producers: "All actors walk around their trailer stark b****** naked.”
A spokesman for the actor told The Sun: “He denies all allegations and will be challenging them.”
