There will be more than 40 street parties across Bury to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee next month with dozens of applications to have roads closed. The Platinum Jubilee celebrations, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne, will take place from Thursday June 2 through to Sunday, June 5.
From Prestwich and Sedgley in the south of the borough to Ramsbottom and Tottington in the north and all points in between, details have been released of road closures to enable neighbours and communities to celebrate jubilee parties.
Bury Council have been fielding a surge of applications for road closures so that residents can host traditional street parties, with just 10 days to go until the celebrations erupt across the country. The applications are required so that authorities including bus companies and emergency services know which streets are likely to be blocked or hard to navigate and that residents avoid potential safety issues.

As it stands, there have been 44 approved applications made for road closures for street parties as of Monday, May 23. During the closures, which in some cases only cover part of the street, vehicles not engaged in the events will be prohibited from proceeding on the parts of streets specified within the order.
Here are the road closures in alphabetical order and by the six towns in Bury borough. Some locations have applied for more than one day of road closures.
