As the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II takes place on Monday, September 19 2022, many procedures have been disrupted as a result of this.
The day has been declared a national bank holiday to allow as many people as possible to view the historic event, reports the Daily Record. Due to this, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will have to rearrange payments for benefits across the board.

Many of these payments will be brought forward to Friday, September 16 2022, in order to make sure people receive their benefits on time. This arrangement follows standard DWP and HMRC protocol that sees benefit and Tax Credits payment dates brought forward in line with national bank holidays.
When commenting on the change in payment dates, a spokesperson for HMRC said: "Due to the bank holiday for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, Child Benefit and Tax Credits customers who had expected a scheduled payment on Monday 19 September, will now receive their payments on Friday 16 September.”
