The full Cardiff City injury bulletin as Aston Villa's Jaden Philogene a doubt for Watford and star ruled out for the season

Cardiff City's standout attacking player Jaden Philogene has emerged as an injury doubt for the Bluebirds' crucial trip to Watford this Wednesday.

Philogene has been a shining light for the Bluebirds' attack, which has been otherwise lacking in creativity and flair, and many have placed their hopes of survival on his shoulders.

However, ahead of the trip to Vicarage Road, manager Sabri Lamouchi has said Philogene, and defender Jack Simpson who was seen in an arm sling after the defeat by Sheffield United, is a doubt for the midweek clash.

"We are looking today at Jaden Philogene and Jack Simpson," Lamouchi said of the players who are doubtful for Watford. "One of them, it's his knee and the other is his shoulder."

They will face a late fitness test before the match and Lamouchi will doubtless be praying Aston Villa loanee Philogene comes through with flying colours.

Elsewhere, Lamouchi ruled Callum Robinson out for the season. He feared that might be the case, but the manager has now confirmed that the club's top scorer will indeed not feature in the final five games.

"Callum will be out and he will not be available until the rest of the season," Lamouchi said. "The medical department tried absolutely everything, this operation in the hamstring Callum tired, I don’t think he will be available.

"It’s absolutely a blow but it’s now more than 10 games without him."

Without Robinson and potentially Philogene, many fans live in hope that Rubin Colwill can come in to fill that creative void. However, an exasperated Lamouchi also ruled him out for the Watford trip.

"Rubin didn’t train with us after Blackpool – he felt a problem in his right hip so he isn’t available (for Watford)," said the Frenchman.

"I hope he will be back for the next one. It’s a loss unfortunately but we need the players 100 percent."

Ebou Adams, who made a return to the pitch for the under-21s against Coventry City on Monday, and Jamilu Collins are the others who are not available for Watford.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm on Wednesday, April 19.
