It's been a huge day for teenagers across the country, as students collect their A level results. For many, today's outcome will determine which university course they get into and where they'll spend the next few years of their lives.
Last year, grades were decided by teachers, using coursework and previous mock exams to determine the results, but this year has been a return for exams. This year's grade boundaries will aim to reflect a 'midway' point between 2021 and 2019, to reflect the disruption, exam regulator Ofqual said.
It means that the race for university places is expected to be one of the most competitive yet, with almost 40 per cent of students thought likely to make use of the clearing system to get a place on a course. But, no matter your grades or next steps, A level students can bag themselves some freebies this results day.

Pizza Express
UNiDAYS has partnered with Pizza Express to offer a free portion of doughballs to all A-level students receiving results on Thursday 18th August 2022. Free doughballs will be available at all 343 Pizza Express restaurants across the UK. Students will need to present official paper or email results at the till to redeem the deal.
Nando's
The Nando's student promotion returns for another year, giving students the chance to claim a free ¼ chicken or starter. All you have to do is visit a restaurant to eat in, or order a walk-in collection, and show your results slip at the till.
The A level results can be physical or via e-mail. Students also need to bring their student ID and must spend more than £7 to claim their freebies.
Frankie and Benny’s
Frankie & Benny's is offering students the opportunity to celebrate their results with a free ten-inch San Francisco style sourdough Margherita Pizza (with a vegan option also available). This usually comes with the price tag £8.90.
All students need to do is show their UCAS results and purchase a soft drink that is just £3. The deal cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
Las Iguanas
For dessert, students can head to the Mexican and Brazilian restaurant chain Las Iguanas. Each student can get three free churros by showing proof of their results and ID.
You do not have to purchase anything else - although, if you do, you can use the regular student discount. The deal is not available in Center Parcs restaurants.
Deliveroo
