Viral 'lads in jeans' mates talk Love Island rumours as one teases appearance

The four "meme lads" have discussed rumours that they will be going on Love Island this year.

A picture of four pals who posed outside Birmingham's New Street train station quickly went viral.

And the men in the photo, Connor Humpage, Kevin Rooney, Jamie Phillips, and Alex Lacey, turned into overnight celebrities, and there have been rumours that ITV bosses want in on their fame.

They appeared on Capital Breakfast on Wednesday morning, and Kevin refused to rule out an appearance on Love Island.

As the only single one of the group, host Roman wanted to know if he'd go on the show.

Roman asked: "If you could appear on a reality TV show, you're four good looking lads, you clearly go to the gym… and a tattoo shop, so I’m gonna ask the question – Connor, Love Island, would you do it?"

Connor replied: "No. Three of us have got girlfriends so…"

As Kevin confirmed he was single, Roman asked: "Kevin, you're the single one – so Kevin? Love Island's on the cards?"

Alex said he'd been approached to star in Love Island (CAPITAL FM)

He replied: "Oh, we'll have to see won’t we?"

After they went viral, fans started predicted one of them will be asked to go on Love Island.

And Alex has revealed that he was approached by producers, but he turned them down as he has a girlfriend, who he's been with for four years.

He told The Tab : "I've had a phone call from Love Island and rejected it, so we are very much in a strong relationship and I wouldn't change that even if the fame and attention gets bigger."

Alex added: "I have had to reassure my missus because as you can imagine she is worried along with my mates' girlfriends but I've told her that she was there for me at the low times and I'll never forget that."
