The films being released on Boxing Day: Anyone But You, Ferrari, Next Goal Wins, The Boy and the Heron

This Boxing Day, a whole host of exciting films are being released in the UK, from romcoms to fantasy and adventure movies.

In November we saw the release of the latest offering from the MCU in the form of sequel The Marvels, as well as the return of The Hunger Games with the prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

December will bring us DC sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and the all-singing, all-dancing Wonka is already out.

Here is a list of films being released on Boxing Day in the UK.

Anyone But You

Anyone But You is an edgy comedy starring Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell). They look like the perfect couple on paper but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold. They end up pretending to be a couple to keep up appearances.

Ferrari

Directed by Michael Mann and written by Troy Kennedy Martin, Ferrari is a biographical sport drama film set in the summer of 1957. It tells the story of the bankruptcy that looms over the company that Enzo Ferrari and his wife built 10 years earlier. He decides to roll the dice and wager it all on the Mille Miglia, a treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy.

Next Goal Wins

Based on the 2014 documentary of the same name, Next Goal Wins is about Dutch-American coach Thomas Rongen's efforts to lead the American Samoa national football team, considered one of the weakest football teams in the world, to qualification for the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

The Boy and the Heron

The Boy and the Heron is a Japanese animation that follows a boy named Mahito Maki (Santoki) during the Pacific War who discovers an abandoned tower in his new town after his mother's death and enters a fantastical world with a talking grey heron.
