Bandai Namco Entertainment America announced that Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomps Champs is now available worldwide. The game offers a rather furious and fast-paced take on Pac-Man. It's where 64 players duke it out on different colorful interconnected mazes. The game is available for the PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.
Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomps Champs is the first multiplayer Pac-Man game that also offers a cross platform feature. The best way to describe the game is that everything is edible with the exception of the maze itself. Players need to chomp their way across pellets, power-ups, Ghosts, and of course, other players, to see who's the last Pac-Man standing.
The game also features a Friend System which allows a maximum of four players to join the same match. In addition, they can also track the progress of each other and even spectate the game play of their friends.
Different Modes
Players can also enjoy different game modes like Elimination Mode which offers arcade-style action that has players of any rank compete and earn Tokens that can then be redeemed on customization items. Ranked Mode meanwhile has players paired with similarly skilled opponents from around the world and then compete for their place on regional and global leaderboards.
Power-Ups
As already mentioned, the game has players chomp on others so there's no question that here anything goes. Making things even more exciting are the different Power Items which not only increase the abilities of the players but can also let them enlist the Ghosts as allies. Other power ups include enhanced speed and obtaining shields, to name a few.
Customization
In order to stand out from the rest of the pack, players need to showcase their skills. To make sure that they stand out even more, there are also various customization options offered. Players can customize the face, head, and body of the Pac-Man. This should allow for some rather inventive and colorful variations.
