Two drug dealers have been jailed after being caught on a train with almost £3,000 worth of MDMA and ketamine.
Jacob Murray and Jai Mistry, both from Tameside, were arrested after fellow passengers tipped off police they were carrying drugs.
After being searched by the officers, who boarded the train at Preston, a 'considerable amount of MDMA and a small amount of ketamine' worth about £3,000 was discovered.
Information found on the Murray and Mistry's phones revealed the drugs were destined to be sold on nightclub and festival scene.
Mistry, 23, of Lyne View, Hyde, and Murray, 24, of Florence Street, Droylsden, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs and conspiracy to supply class B drugs and were each sentenced to 32 months in prison at Preston Crown Court.
Det Con Chris Biggs, from British Transport Police, said: "This was a significant haul resulting in almost £3,000 of drugs destined for the festival and nightclub market being taken off the streets.
"Drugs will not be tolerated anywhere on the railway and officers will do everything in their power to bring prosecutions against those concerned with the supply of drugs.
"This sentence sends out a strong message regarding the consequences of travelling with controlled drugs on the rail network."
