The Fall star Aisling Franciosi is set to star opposite Sandra Bullock in a new movie, The Unforgivable.
Directed by Nora Fingscheidt, the film is based on the 2009 British miniseries Unforgiven by Sally Wainwright, which starred Suranne Jones.
Posting the trailer on her Instagram account, Dubliner Franciosi, whose other credits include Game of Thrones and The Nightingale, wrote: “Feel very lucky to have been a part of this production with a great cast and crew.”
The new drama is coming soon to cinemas and Netflix and will also star Viola Davis, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Richard Thomas and Rob Morgan in the supporting cast roles.
The movie synopsis reads: “Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Sandra Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past.
“Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding Katie (Aisling Franciosi), the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”
This marks Bullock’s first film since 2018’s Bird Box, which became a huge smash hit for Netflix despite mixed reviews.
The Unforgivable is in selected cinemas from Wednesday, 24 November and will be available on Netflix from Friday, 10 December.
