The evolution of SoSueMe millionaire Suzanne Jackson from job at reception to buying Dublin mansion

Suzanne Jackson, aka SoSueMe, is perhaps the biggest success story in the world of Irish beauty and fashion in the last decade.

Using platforms like Instagram and Facebook to grow her brand into the unstoppable force it is today, on-lookers can't help but applaud the 37-year-old blogger.

The businesswoman is in the news this week as she announced she is stepping down as CEO of her SOSU brand. She launched the brand in 2015 but has decided to hand over leadership to someone who can bring the company to the next level.

The 37-year-old told VIP Magazine: "I have actually just hired a new CEO for my business. I am seven years now running SoSu, but with my skill set I can’t bring my company any further," she said.

Suzanne is now going to spend some time with her husband Dylan in Portugal and plans to dip into investments as well as consulting start-ups.

But where is Suzanne's journey begin and how did she get to where she is today? Her to success actually started when she lost her job in HR during the recession. When she got a part time job as a receptionist for 98fm, where she got to meet celebrities like One Direction and Ollie Murs, she thought it would be fun to write about her encounters with them.

As her writing proved successful, Suzanne left her job at 98fm and in the same week signed a deal for her new book, SoSueMe Secrets to Fashion, Beauty and Blogging, which was a sellout success.

The blog was nothing short of a roaring success and with Suzanne moving into the realm of beauty and fashion, the Skerries native began collaborating with such as Rimmel, Lipsy, L’Oreal, Lancome, Primark and Pretty Little Thing before establishing SoSu by Suzanne Jackson.

She is now the proud owner of what one might describe as an empire and has even taken up a presenting role at RTE, hosting The Style Counsellors, a show that gives guests wardrobe makeovers from the blogger-turned-business owner.

SoSu by Suzanne Jackson stocks a wide range of beauty products such as fake tan, contour palettes, highlighter kits, lashes, nails, eye makeup and accessories such as makeup brushes and sponges.

Despite only being five years old, the brand is stocked by an impressive list of large retailers including Beauty Bay, Dunnes Stores, Misguided, Pretty Little Thing, Primark and Tesco.

Her companies brought in millions in profits in 2020.

Her products have made an impression in Ireland and abroad as they're also sold in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Poland.

In 2019, Suzanne dived into another stylish venture when she launched her own clothing range with online retailer In The Style.

Continuing to venture in her passion for fashion, Suzanne, along with fellow influencer Terrie McEvoy, with launched Mantra Official, a footwear collection.

The influencer and business owner married hubby Dylan O’Connor in 2017 when she donned a stunning dress designed by Hayley Paige which featured a daring plunging neckline and a gorgeous lace veil.

The couple moved into a stunning mansion in Skerries back in 2018, worth an incredible €1.8million.
