The everchanging Comic Relief Red Nose's over the years

Who would have thought that back in February 1988 when the first Red Nose Day was held - that we would be here now in 2022 talking about the latest one.

One of the biggest fundraising pieces of merchandise that you can buy is the one and only red nose.

Whilst other forms of merch have come and gone from the likes of the car bumper nose to the specific year's t-shirt or fleece.

So let's go back through the years and the different noses and numerous stars who have adorned them - leaving nothing to be sniffed at.

The Plain Red Nose (1988)

The first Red Nose Day was advertised with the slogan The Plain Red Nose.

Red Nose Day 2 (1989)

The second Red Nose Day, cleverly titled Red Nose day 2 saw the introduction of the My Nose nose and the car nose as well

The Stonker (1991)

The Hands Nose was the nose of choice in 1991 - be it in car form or on your face.

The Invasion of the Comic Tomatoes (1993)

The tomato nose came to public prominence in 1993.

What A Difference A Day Makes (1995)

A very different nose was released in 1995 - The Heat Sensitive Nose. These came in two versions and would turn either pink or yellow when they got hot.

Small Change – Big Difference (1997)

1997 saw The Shaggy nose - covered in fur.

Red Nose Day 1999

The turn of the century saw the release of The Big Red Hooter.

Red Nose Day 2001

2001 was all about the Whoopee Nose.

Red Nose Day 2003

The Hairy Nose got in everyone's way in 2003.

The Big Red One was one of the most comfortable noses to wear.

Red Nose Day 2009

Three noses went on sale in 2009 - This One, That One and The Other One - along with the tagline - Do Something Funny For Money.

Red Nose Day 2011

Again this year saw three different noses released. The monster noses were called Honkus, Chucklechomp and Captain Conk.
