The epic Scottish attraction going head to head with rest of UK in top awards

A popular Scottish attraction is going up against the UK's best after being nominated as a finalist for a top award. The Royal Yacht Britannia is up for two awards in the Remarkable Venue Awards, which were announced by online ticketing platform Tiqets.

Celebrating the best museums and attractions in the UK along with 8 other countries, the 20 UK nominees include the Tower of London, the British Music Experience, Crumlin Road Goal and Etihad Stadium.

This year more than 200 nominees are competing to become one of the seven winners in each of the nine countries represented in the Remarkable Venue Awards.

The selection of the venues in these five categories is based on 1.1M+ customer reviews of venues on Tiqets.com, with The Royal Yacht Britannia going up for Best Museum and Best Onsite Experience.

Best Museum - recognises the best-rated museums and art galleries

  • Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • The Postal Museum, London, England
  • Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, England
  • British Music Experience, Liverpool

Best Onsite Experience - recognises the venues that offer the best onsite experience, staff interaction and information at the venue

  • Western Approaches HQ, Liverpool, England
  • Royal Liver Building, Liverpool, England
  • Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • The Postal Museum, London, England

Later this month, the second round of nominees for the two application-based awards, Best Hidden Gem, and Most Innovative Venue, will be announced. These two award categories will be assessed by a panel of industry judges including Arival CEO Douglas Quinby, Viajes National Geographic Web Director Javier Zori, MuseumNext Founder Jim Richardson, and

The winners in all seven categories for all nine participating countries will be announced on September 28th, 2022.
