The election map that shows how Britain has gone blue

This map shows the radical change in Britain's political make-up following a historic night for the Conservative Party.

The Tories have gained seats across the nation and have managed to turn previous Labour strongholds Blue in the 2019 General Election.

Boris Johnson is set to win a landslide number of seats having already secured a majority, while Labour and the Liberal Democrats have struggled to hold on to seats.

The Labour Party has suffered its biggest losses since 1935 and has failed to hold onto seats in some former mining towns that have a long history of being Red.

The Tories have taken seats from Labour in Bury, Bolton, Don Valley, Wakefield, Bolsover, Durham and Kensington among others.

While the constituency map of England is predominantly blue with Tory wins, it's a different story in Scotland.

The Scottish National Party has gained 13 seats bringing its total number of MPs up to 48.
