The Edinburgh toasty shop going viral for its dreamy toast and cheese

The Welsh call it a rarebit, the Americans grilled cheese, but to us, it's the humble toastie.

However, in the hands of the team at one Edinburgh eatery, it's being elevated to something of a work of art.

Cheese N' Toasted has been making waves in the capital ever since it opened in Stockbridge in November, with residents and tourists alike enjoying their incredible creations.

Not only that, but the TikTok and Instagram generation have also been raving about it with viral videos and posts aplenty.

The little shop, which is recognisable due to its baby blue frontage, can be found on Deanhaugh Street and started life as a food truck on the now-famous NC500 at their spot in Durness.

Offering teas and coffees as well as soups alongside the toasties which give the restaurant its name, they've become known for their delightful offerings.

Their great value toastie menu is split into three with Signatures (ranging from £5.95 to £6.95), such as the Stockbridge Stack and the Highlander, the smaller Combos (£4.95 to £5.50), and the Plant-based combos with the Meatless Melt and Non-cheesy Garlic.

They also do monthly specials such as the mouth-watering sounding All Day Breakfast toastie which consists of back bacon, pork sausage, Macsween's haggis, and their iconic three cheese blend (a sweet, smooth and stringy mix of Orkney cheddar, Mozzarella and Monterey Jack).

And it seems they've been getting glowing reviews too.

One fan wrote: "Delighted to have found this wee gem of a place. They include a selection of gluten-free toasties.... (this just doesn't happen) all well-filled and great value for money, all served with good banter.

"I suggest you all go!"

While another added: "Well finally made it to Cheese 'N' Toasted, my expectations were high going by the reviews and photos/videos, not often it happens but my expectations were surpassed, absolutely the best toastie ever."
