Blue, 34, took the brave step to share her memories of her beloved son with her followers on Instagram eight months after his death.
She said: "On the 28th of July 2022 we welcomed our son, Senan O’Shaughnessy Evans, into the world.
"Senan sadly passed away after nine days with us due to an unforeseen complication around the time of his birth.
"He came two weeks early and we discovered that there was a true knot in his cord. He suffered severe damage to his brain as a result which meant that he wasn’t strong enough to live on his own.
"After eight nights in the NICU we were brought to the LauraLynn Hospice for children. Myself, Fiachra, Luna and Senan got the incredible chance to be a family there... no wires, tubes or alarms.
"Senan passed away peacefully that same night, lying on my chest – warm and loved beyond measure."
U2 guitarist The Edge, 61, real name Dave Evans, has four daughters and one son from two marriages.
Blue is his youngest daughter. She has an eight-year-old daughter Luna, who she gave birth to in 2014. In 2010 his wife Morleigh Steinberg described her devastation when the couple’s daughter Sian, who was nine at the time, had been diagnosed with leukaemia in 2006.
Morleigh sent her support to Blue after her brave decision to post about baby Senan.
Commenting underneath the Instagram post she said: "So beautifully spoken Blue. You are all a picture of strength, grace and love. So much love.
"You are an incredible mother and person. Senan captured all of our hearts. There he will remain for ever. I love you, Fiachra, Luna, and Senan. God bless Lauralynn Hospice."
Blue continued: "Posting about Senan has been a big decision, and one we haven’t taken lightly.
"But I have, what feels like, a primal urge to tell the whole world how beautiful and amazing our son was.
"He was big and strong, weighing 8lbs and measuring 20.5 inches long. He was absolutely perfect in every way and all I want is for him to be back in my arms.
"He brought, and continues to bring, so much love into our lives and we will always, always miss him.
"Today is his eight month anniversary."
She also paid tribute to LauraLynn children’s hospice which she said "is run by true angels". She added: "I cannot express enough my gratitude for them and what they do."
Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson reacted to the post and simply said: "I love you Blue x."
Blue’s sister Hollie said: "Oh Bubu, you are so brave and so strong. I love you and I miss Senan with every cell in my body. Xx"
