Leeds United could benefit from a long-term 'curse' when they host Premier League leaders Arsenal at Elland Road later this afternoon after renowned rap artist Drake placed a major bet on the Gunners to run out victors.
The so-called 'Drake Curse' has been a concept for numerous years now with the world-famous music star having a reputation for having poor luck when it comes to sports.
As part of a two-part wager with Stake.com, Drake has betted £537,253 (CA$833,333) on Mikel Arteta's Arsenal to win in Yorkshire this afternoon with the Gunners winning eight of their opening nine Premier League matches.

However, the rapper hasn't got a great track record when it comes to making these colossal bets and even his own basketball team the Toronto Raptors have been known to lose multiple high-profile games when he has been in attendance.
Moreover, Drake also has a track record of being pictured wearing football shirts with the team in question losing their next match as well as posing with former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just days before the Gabon international ended up on the bench for a 1-0 defeat to Everton
Drake posted a screenshot of the bet on his Instagram account, with another wager placed on Barcelona to win this weekend's El Clasico against Real Madrid, captioning the post: "This morning should be fun... #OVOBarca #COYG @stake". The Spanish giants will wear shirts with their sponsor Spotify replaced with the OVO logo, Drake's clothing brand, after the rapper became the first artist to reach 50 billion streams on the platform.
Should Drake be successful, he will win a whopping total payout of around £2.51m (CA$3.9m), however, Leeds fans will be hopeful that the curse can be prolonged which would therefore see their side get a much-needed result having gone five games without a win.
