Rock and roll biopics are all the rage right now, especially with Bohemian Rhapsody cleaning up this awards season.

And now Netflix is getting in on the action with a Mötley Crüe movie called The Dirt, coming next month.

The star-studded original, directed by Jeff Tremaine, plots the life and times of the notorious rockers – based on a book of the same name to which the band members contributed.

As the official trailer is released, here is what you need to know about The Dirt….

What is The Dirt about?

Due out towards the end of March, the film charts the early successes of one of the greatest rock bands from their formative days to the legendary status in the world of rock and roll.

Mötley Crüe’s biopic is based on a 2001 autobiography chronicling the perils and pleasures of fame, including everything from sex and drugs to high-rolling wealth.

Who stars in The Dirt?

Douglas Booth, who is best known for playing Boy George in BBC’s Worried About the Boy, stars as bassist Nikki Sixx opposite Misfits and Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars, the band’s guitarist.
