The ‘Destiny 2’ Dawning God Roll Weapons You Should Be Farming

Destiny 2 Bungie

The Dawning is back, and over the years, we have racked up quite a collection of Dawning-only weapons to collect. And over the years, they’ve gotten better and better, with more perks being added to them in time. And this year? We have one new weapon with a perk entirely unique to it, which is something we haven’t seen before.

We also have the best way to farm these to date. Not only can you 50/50 focus them this time around, but upgrades with Eva will buy you the chance to get an extra perk option in the left or right column, or both. Each “Gift in Return” is guaranteed to be a new weapon, and I’d save those until you have both those double perk upgrades finished.

Once you do? Here are the god roll dawning weapons you’re hunting:

Glacioclasm (Arc Fusion Rifle)

Destiny 2 Bungie

Subsistence/Reservoir Burst – Glacioclasm may not feel as good as it used to (at all) because of the high impact charge time nerf, but it can roll this wild combination for PvE that will keep your ammo topped up for non-stop Reservoir Burst shots.

Slideshot/Reservoir Burst – Another way to keep your ammo full for constant Reservoir Burst shots, but definitely second fiddle to the first roll.

Surplus or Killing Wind/Harmony – Do not underestimate the sheer single target damage potential with a high impact fusion with Harmony. Do you enjoy two shotting champions without even stunning them? Well, here you go.

Under Pressure/High Impact Reserves – Here is your PvP roll, though the charge time has really decimated this thing in PvP in general. It used to be my favorite special ammo weapon by far there.

Cold Front (Kinetic SMG)

Destiny 2 Bungie

Subsistence/Rampage or One for All or Swashbuckler – Since the buff to SMGs with Subsistence, suddenly that roll is viable again and not a bad pick for mowing down mobs. Of these three, One for All might be your best bet given the sustained damage increase.

Perpetual Motion/ Rampage or One for All or Swashbuckler – SMGs are one of the most mobility-focused weapons out there, so they are perfect for the new buffs of Perpetual Motion, paired with your favorite damage perk. You can also sub in Surplus if you want, but that’s been nerfed a bit after cooldown changes.

Avalanche (Solar Machine Gun)

Destiny 2 Bungie

Autoloading/Vorpal – Look, someday machine guns will get buffed again, and maybe this will be okay for killing bosses. But until then, I find most things about this gun underwhelming.

Zen Moment/Tap the Trigger – This will offset some of the stability problems this archetype comes with.

Subsistence/Adrenaline Junkie or Swashbuckler – Subsistence on an MG is always a good bit of fun, and pair it with these damage perks for some solid mob clear. But yeah, I just think there are far better options in this slot almost…always.

Zephyr (Stasis Sword)

Destiny 2 Bungie

Duelist’s Trance or Relentless or Tireless/Cold Steel – Really the only thing that is going to set this sword apart from others is the new Cold Steel perk which slows and eventually freezes enemies. Given how that works, I’d say Duelist’s is your best bet as an upgrade over the masterworked one you get from Eva. There are other good rolls but I’d be amazed if you didn’t have other Whirlwind/Harmony swords already. Cold Steel is what makes this unique.
