Long the apple of many a Lions fan’s eyes, All-Pro wode receiver DeAndre Hopkins will not be coming to Detroit. Hopkins has agreed to sign as a free agent with the Tennessee Titans.
After being let go by the Arizona Cardinals earlier this offseason, Hopkins was free to sign anywhere with a more affordable contract. The Lions made some sense as a potential destination for the 31-yeat-old, but Detroit never seriously explored the option. Based on the reported contract Hopkins will get from the Titans, it makes sense why the Lions were not interested.
The #Titans are giving star WR DeAndre Hopkins a 2-year, $26M deal worth up to $32M with incentives, source said.
He gets a base of $12M in Year 1 with a chance to get to $15M. https://t.co/4Vsy2sF1zG
