The dazzling Swansea City player ratings as Manning, Christie and others shine against Preston

BEN HAMER 7

Good save to deny Ched Evans early on but got away with a loose pass to Daniel Johnson. Did well in the air after that. Clean sheet.

BEN CABANGO 8

Dominant in the air, very good in possession and pushed up the pitch when possible. Very encouraging display from the Welshman.

KYLE NAUGHTON 8

Made a number of important defensive interventions and was as accurate as ever with his passing. Just what the hosts needed.

RYAN MANNING - Star Man 8

Solid defensively and always looked threatening. Scored another belter to put Swansea ahead and was well denied by Daniel Iversen soon after. Threw himself in front of a shot from Daniel Johnson. Fine performance.

CYRUS CHRISTIE 8

Got into some promising positions in the first 45 but didn't have the end product needed. But the Fulham loanee was excellent in the second half and ran riot on Preston's left flank. Unlucky not to score, too. Subbed.

FLYNN DOWNES 8

Constantly on the ball and was typically robust defensively too. What more can you say about him?

MATT GRIMES 7

Was at the heart of Swansea's best - albeit limited - attacking play in the first half. Some very good moments in the second half too.

JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE 7

Put some decent crosses into the box but often left heaps of space in behind on the left flank. Solid enough in the second half in fairness.

KOREY SMITH 7

Ran himself ragged throughout and made a number of good passes in key areas. Defensive work was good too.

OLIVIER NTCHAM 6

Did his share of defensive work but wasn't unable to cause too many problems in the final third after hitting the side netting with a shot early on. Subbed.

JOEL PIROE 6

Had little service in the first half and wasn't at his sharpest when he did get into good positions. Missed a great chance in the second half but was offside anyway. Replaced.

Subs

Hannes Wolf (for Ntcham) - His pace gave Swansea better options in attack. Exciting run out. He could be very lively when fully up to speed. 7

Kyle Joseph (for Piroe) - Ran himself ragged in a bid to slow down any Preston attempts to get a leveller. 6

Jay Fulton (for Christie) - Helped Swansea see out the game. N/A
