The cute Welsh seaside cottage that's for sale for the first time in 150 years

If you imagine a perfect, cute country cottage close to the coast it's likely you have a list of the 'must have' iconic features you'd be expecting and demanding.

This cutest of white washed homes near St David's, Pembrokeshire called Ty To will probably tick off almost all of the feature 'wish-list' for a potential buyer looking for a classic cottage.

It's cute but also quirky and from the outside the part thatched roof and green corrugated extensions, tiny windows and two proud red front doors all add a unique character to this home that definitely continues within.

No wonder the cottage hasn't been for sale for more than 150 years.

Through the far left front door and into the kitchen/diner and the does not disappoint.

There's a slate flagstone floor, white washed stone walls and the expected ceiling beams.

Of course there's a range cooker (oil-fired), a butler sink and the cutest of Welsh dressers.

But there is plenty of room for a dining table and chairs to ensure this is a very sociable space and probably the heart of the home.

The colours chosen to complement the warm wood tones and cool walls are mainly traditional heritage tones of green, cream and blue, with the flash of gingham adding to the country vibe.

But this is tasteful country cottage interior design , classic and understated, nothing twee to be seen here.

In the corner there is a staircase that leads to the cosiest of bedrooms, room enough for twin beds and also an ensuite toilet and basin.

From the pretty country kitchen and into the snug, the main living area featuring a quarry tile floor and sand blasted honey-toned ceiling beams.

Of course there's a period fireplace as the focal point of the room, providing a cosy spot to curl up on the sofa in the winter.

The decor in this room features warm orange, red and cream tones that connect to the internal and external door colours.

The tactile soft furnishings and chunky wooden chest, along with the beams, create a visually warm and inviting space against the backdrop of the white walls.

The living room then flows through to a second reception room that features a crog loft that no Welsh traditional cottage would be without.

A mezzanine level that is open to the roof eaves and looks down over the ground floor, that is traditionally used as a sleeping area, a crog loft is an iconic feature of any classic cottage.

This dual level room is rather special, also featuring the beams and rope structure of the underside of the thatch roof fully on show to be appreciated, plus an inglenook fireplace with substantial log burner.

At the end of the cottage, accessed from the crog loft room and along the hall, is the main double bedroom which continues the red accent interiors theme.

This tranquil room has sanded floorboards, with white boarded walls and ceiling ensuring this space feels light and spacious.

This sense of light and space is helped by the oblicitory stable door that a proper country cottage should have, that can be opened to allow the gorgeous country views to rush in to greet the occupant as they slowly wake up. Lucky thing.

The main bathroom is also found off this inner hallway and is spacious enough to have a bath.

This pretty property also has a utility room and in the garden a separate office outbuilding which has power and a phone line connection.

So if the cottage is pretty perfect, the location is pretty good too.

Nestled within the Pembrokeshire countryside in the tiny hamlet of Tretio, the cottage is just a mile or two from the coast and some of the most gorgeous beaches in Wales, including the Blue Flag Award Whitesands Bay just five miles away.

Set within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the location of the property is the perfect combination of coast and country, and the home is the perfect combination of classic country cottage and expected modern additions.

The cottage is for sale for offers over £320,000, by calling estate agent West Wales Properties at their Fishguard branch on 0845 094 3004
