The ‘crown jewels of bowling’ to open at Trafford Palazzo with shuffleboard, karaoke booths and street food

A new flagship, state-of-the-art bowling and gaming experience has confirmed it will open in Trafford later this summer. King Pins, is set to open in Trafford Palazzo on July 17 and bookings are now open.

Billed as the ‘crown jewels of bowling’, the new venue will be home to both Ten Pin and Duck Pin bowling, shuffleboard, ice free curling, air hockey, karaoke booths and arcade games. It will also feature two independent food concessions - Manchester pizza pros, PLY, and Asian street food favourites Little Bao Boy - and a full-service bar and a dessert kiosk.

King Pins’ ‘Royal Treats’ will serve a huge selection of sweet snacks, from donuts and soft serve ice cream, to Pick ‘N’ Mix, while the bar will serve 20 different beers including from local Salford brewery, Seven Bro7hers, alongside a large variety of cocktails, alcohol-free options and homemade slushies.

James Travis, Brand Manager of King Pins, said: “We’re looking forward to finally opening King Pins this summer at Trafford Palazzo. The offering at King Pins is like no other, we are all about quality as opposed to outdated family fun. We can’t wait to showcase everything on offer, including a truly state-of-the-art bowling experience and some top tier local food vendors.

“King Pins will be a place for the whole family to have fun, but equally the space will transform by night into an entertainment venue with music, drinks and bowling which is also perfect for adults looking for something different.”

Famed for its outside-the-box non-traditional pizzas, PLY will making its own homemade dough, which uses ethically grown, UK-produced wild farmed flour. The menu will be packed with the best pizzas from PLY’s repertoire, including plant-based options, a special kids menu and a brand new King Pins pizza.

Carl Fraenkl-Rietti, Co-owner of PLY, said: “We are very excited about partnering with King Pins and are looking forward to the launch this summer. PLY will be bringing its fun, fresh food to the venue, which is the perfect fit for us. We are all about bringing great vibes, and who doesn’t love playing games, drinking beer and cocktails with a slice of pizza in hand."

Meanwhile, Little Bao Boy, which was originally founded in Leeds, will be serving up home made bao buns and Asian food with a western, contemporary twist. Their King Pins site will be dishing out an abundance of baos - from beef brisket to salt & pepper aubergine.

James Ooi at Little Bao Boy, commented: “We are very excited to be opening our restaurant in Manchester alongside King Pins, especially after seeing such a huge success at our home site in Leeds and Manchester city centre. We can’t wait to start slinging out our Bao Buns from this amazing new venue and we are looking forward to being part of this exciting new launch at Trafford Palazzo.”

King Pins officially opens on Monday, July 17, and bookings are now open here. The venue is located at Trafford Palazzo near to local venues Legoland Discovery Centre, SEA LIFE and the forthcoming Nerf Experience.
