The Crown cast reunites at the premiere of royal drama's final season

The cast of the latest series of The Crown reunited in Los Angeles for the show’s US premiere.

Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana, was joined by Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards who play her sons as well as Ed McVey and Luther Ford who play the older versions of William and Harry.

Also joining the line-up was Meg Bellamy, who portrays Kate Middleton, and Khalid Abdalla who plays Diana’s lover Dodi Fayed.

The sixth and final season of the hit royal Netflix drama is being released in two parts with the first instalment launching on November 16 while the second part airs on December 14.

Season five explored the events around Charles and Diana’s divorce and the infamous BBC interview with Martin Bashir, while this series will focus on her death as well as the early relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton and the marriage of King Charles and Camilla.

The show’s executive producer Suzanne Mackie said the death of Diana would be handled sensitively.

She told the Edinburgh TV Festival: “The show might be big and noisy, but we’re not. We’re thoughtful people and we’re sensitive people.

“And so there was a very, very careful, long, long, long conversation about how we do it – and I hope, you know, the audience will judge it in the end, but I think it’s been delicately, thoughtfully recreated.”

Some of the filming was done on location in St Andrews - the Scottish town where William and Kate first met while attending university.

Their relationship began when Kate caught the 19-year-old prince’s attention when she strode down the catwalk in a sheer dress for a charity fashion show.
