Matt Smith has been announced as one of the guests appearing at Liverpool Comic Con later this year.
The actor, best known for his roles as the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who and more recently Daemon Targaryen in the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon, will be making his way to Liverpool for the convention. The event is running from Saturday, April 1 to Sunday, April 2.
Smith will be making an appearance on the first day. The announcement follows the news that Victor Dorobantu, who's hand you may recognise as Thing in Netflix's hit series Wednesday, will also be appearing at the convention.

Fans are hugely excited for the appearance, with many quick to comment on the social media post from Liverpool Comic Con. One person said: "Wow awesome live this" followed by heart emojis, and another added: "Can't wait to meet Matt."
The popular event is a regular convention geared towards comic book lovers, sci-fi fans and cosplay enthusiasts, and Liverpool Comic Con is the North West's largest comic book and film fan convention. It also boasts some of the UK's biggest celebrity guest exclusives, with previous conventions featuring appearances from stars from huge series' like Stranger Things, The Vampire Diaries, Peaky Blinders, Matilda, One Tree Hill, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and more.
The convention is held in the Exhibition Centre Liverpool twice a year, for one weekend in April and one in November. At the last convention in November 2022, Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, as well as Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson in the hit Netflix series, were all in attendance.
As well as photo and autograph opportunities with famous faces from the silver screen, ticket holders are treated to a smorgasbord of entertainment, with elaborate cosplay, iconic artefacts and exhibitions from hit shows, live guest panels with A-List celebrities, and interactive games and activities.
Liverpool Comic Con has attracted more than 100,000 visitors to six events since it launched at Exhibition Centre Liverpool in 2018. Organisers have confirmed it will return this spring, and then twice a year up until 2025, providing a significant economic boost to the region.
