It’s no surprise the Washington Commanders are in search of a quarterback. The franchise has been searching for one since Kirk Cousins departed after the 2017 season.
With a new owner, GM and head coach, the Commanders are in a unique position. Washington has a fresh start and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The franchise has an opportunity to land a top prospect at the most important position in sports.
Which quarterback will Washington select in April? It’s widely expected that Caleb Williams (USC) will go to the Chicago Bears at No. 1, leaving the Commanders to choose between Jayden Daniels (LSU) and Drake Maye (North Carolina). Daniels and Maye are no consolation prizes, they are legit top prospects.
At the 2024 NFL combine this week, it was no surprise that Washington was busy using some of its formal meetings with the top quarterback prospects. The biggest surprise was that owner Josh Harris was involved.
The Commanders scheduled formal interviewed with six quarterback prospects this week. Here are those six quarterbacks.

The six QB interviews Josh Harris sat in on — the obvious three, plus JJ McCarthy, Bo Nix and Michael Penix — were the only QB formal interviews the Commanders did at the Combine, per source.
