The Co-op hires former N Brown CFO as new finance chief

The Co-op has hired the former chief financial officer of fashion group N Brown as its new finance chief.

Rachel Izzard's resignation from the Manchester-based company, whose brands include Simply Be and Jacamo, in November last year.

She had served in the role since the end of June 2020 and has previously worked for the likes of Aer Lingus and British Airways.

The new CFO will succeed Mike Hazell who has held the role on an interim basis.

Mr Hazell had been in the job since Shirine Khoury-Haq was promoted to group CEO.

N Brown Group recently appointed Dominic Appleton as its new chief financial officer. Mr Appleton had spent 10 years at The Very Group, most recently as group finance director.

He has previously held CFO roles at online bathroom retailer, VictoriaPlum.com, and footwear brand, Hotter Shoes.

Shirine Khoury-Haq, Co-op Group CEO, said: "We’re delighted that Rachel is joining us at such an exciting time for our Co-op.

"We are all looking forward to welcoming her in June and her wealth of experience will enable us to continue to deliver our vision as a commercially successful co-operative.

"We’re grateful to Mike for the significant contribution he has made in strengthening the underlying financial position of our Co-op during his time here.

"He leaves with our very best wishes for the future and he will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues at Co-op."
