A touching moment between Gary Neville and Cristiano Ronaldo has been re-shared on social media, charting the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's first stint at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo signed for United as an unknown talent in 2003 after impressing legendary head coach Sir Alex Ferguson during a friendly clash against Sporting CP.
Then 18, the future world-beater shone in a win over Leicester City in his debut season, winning the man-of-the-match award. In the post-match interview with Neville, the full-back dragged Ronaldo over to partake in the media duties.
"Just say 'I enjoy game, I dribble very well..." Neville joked to Ronaldo prior to the interview.
But on his promising teammate said: "He's very confident. He always wants the ball. He dribbles at players and makes it very difficult for them. Tonight, Ian Walker had to make a lot of good saves from him.
"It's easy for people to think it's easy to settle in at this club. He's come with a big price tag and he's only 18 years of age. But to come from a foreign country and adapt the way he has is incredible. He's a very good player."
At the time, the relatively unknown youngster was an uncut gem after signing from Portugal for £12m, a big price tag for the time.
Five years after the interview with Sky Sports reporter Guy Havord, Ronaldo secured a move to Real Madrid for a then-world record fee.
And five Champions League winners' medals later, he made a sensational return to the Theatre of Dreams, 12 years later with Neville moving into the media side of the game after retiring at the age of 35.
