The Chiefs sideline had such a wholesome reaction to Chris Jones hitting a $1.25 million sack bonus

The Kansas City Chiefs went into Sunday’s Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers with no playoff implications on the line. The team had already locked up the AFC West title and playoff seeding, which led to starters like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce sitting out the game.

Chris Jones, on the other hand, had 1.25 million reasons to suit up for Sunday’s game.

Jones needed just one more sack to hit a $1.25 million incentive bonus in his contract. Given the Chargers’ poor pass protection, Jones probably expected it to be a short day. But he went into the third quarter still in search of that sack. His time would eventually come with just under five minutes to go in the third quarter, and just look at the Chiefs sideline’s reaction.

They were so pumped for Jones. Everyone knew what that sack meant for Jones, and Chiefs certainly knew who was buying dinner once they return home.

NFL fans also loved the reaction. It doesn’t get much more wholesome than that.
