Calling all cheese-lovers – a hotel room dedicated entirely to everyone’s favourite dairy delicacy is set to open in London at the end of the month.
The Cheese Suite has been created by French restaurant chain Cafe Rouge, and will be open in Camden for the week between January 29 and February 6.
The too-gouda-to-miss suite is set to be decorated entirely with fromage-inspired wallpaper and furnishings, and be filled with cheese soap, boardgames and giant art installations.
As the room has been set up in celebration of Cafe Rouge’s new cheese-centric winter menu, guests will naturally be able to nibble on more than one cheesy dish. The suite will have cheese, crackers and wine ready and waiting for nighttime snack sessions, while visitors will also be able to order hot food through an on-demand hotline.
Dishes on offer include halloumi frites, a camembert and raisin chutney baguette, a beef Bourguignon burger stuffed with both raclette and comte cheese, and a selection of Croques – a French-style grilled cheese sandwich filled with the likes of smoked ham, Portobello mushroom and truffle oil, or French onion and Dijon mustard.
And it’s complimentary? You feta believe it. A night’s stay will be offered free of charge to nine winners of the Cafe Rouge’s prize draw, but visitors are encouraged to donate to The Prince’s Trust charity on checking out from their stay. Hopefuls can enter the randomly selected draw by emailing thecheesesuite@caferouge.co.uk.
The Cheese Suite will run from January 29 - February 6. For more information, visit caferouge.com
