The cheapest unleaded petrol price within five miles of Liverpool city centre has been revealed.
As of Monday 9 May, the cheapest place to top up your car is at Costco in the city centre, where members can get 155.7p per litre for petrol. It is nearly 2p per litre cheaper than the next best but is only available to Costco members.
Non-Costco members should head to one of the four Asda petrol stations in Sefton Park, Walton, Bootle Strand or Bootle Orrell Lane to get 159.7p per litre in the next best cheapest price, according to data from PetrolPrices.com.
Sainsburys on Rice Lane is usually one of the cheapest places to buy petrol in the Liverpool area and prices are just 2p per litre higher than at Asda. The current price at the Sainsburys to the north of the city are 159.9p per litre. The cheapest prices can overwhelmingly be found in the north of Liverpool with the Texaco on Barlow Lane in Walton and the BP Hall Lane in Aintree both also selling petrol at 159.9 per litre.
The cheapest petrol prices in Liverpool are well below the national average of 163.1p as the high price of oil has led to huge spikes in petrol prices at the pumps.
