The average price of petrol has hit another record high as the cost of living continues to rise.
The invasion of Ukraine has continued to push the already expensive fuel prices up and now according to RAC, petrol has hit 189.33p per litre.
This comes as the rate of UK inflation, edged up to 9.1 per cent in the 12 months to May, from 9 per cent in April, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said, the highest its been in 40 years.

And while train strikes rage on through the week, Edinburgh residents will be looking at where they can pick up the cheapest petrol.
RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said: “Just as more people took to their cars on the first day of the rail strikes the average price of petrol increased (on Tuesday) to 189.33p, taking a full tank over the £104 mark (£104.13). Diesel also reached another new high at 197.11p putting it perilously close to the £2-a-litre milestone. A full fill-up of diesel for a 55-litre family car now costs on average £108.41."
He added: “With the oil price falling and wholesale costs down over the last week, pressure is mounting on the biggest retailers to turn the tide and put petrol pump prices into reverse. It now seems we’ve reached the current petrol peak, so we expect to see the big four supermarkets start to cut their prices. As they dominate UK fuel retailing this should lead to others reducing their prices too which will benefit drivers everywhere.
“The situation with diesel is different unfortunately as wholesale prices last week still put it on course to move closer towards an average of £2 a litre. If, however, oil continues to trade lower it could just prevent this from becoming a reality.”
According to Petrol Prices, Costco in Loanhead is currently selling petrol for 177.7p and diesel for 185.9p, the cheapest we've found at the pump.
In Asda in Straiton, you can top up your tank for 181.7p per litre and at the Asda petrol station on New Mart Road, you can buy unleaded petrol for 183.7p and diesel for 192.7p.
Sainsbury's on Westfield avenue is selling petrol for 183.9p and diesel for 193.9p. As is the Sainsbury's store in Currie, Esso on Willowbrae Road and Straiton's Sainsbury's.
The most expensive prices to pay at the pump comes from Shell on Seafield Road, Leith at 191.9p per litre. Jet on Restalrig Road, BP on Ferry Road and Esso on Biggar Road also sell petrol at that price.
And as for diesel, BP on Ferry Road is charing 196.9p for diesel and and Esso is selling it for 195.9p.
