The cheapest and most expensive seaside towns near Bristol to buy in

With more glorious weather on the horizon, we wouldn't blame you if you start imagining what life would be like in one of the many coastal towns near Bristol.

Thankfully there are generally lots of affordable options in towns such as Weston-super-Mare and Clevedon to allow you to make your dream a reality.

Somerset Live reports Rightmove has collected data on the average house prices in each town over the past 12 months.

The results show the price of living in some of our nearest and most loved coastal towns is not as high as you might think.

Here is how much it will cost you to live in each of these seaside towns, from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Weston-super-Mare

Despite boasting some impressive piers and beaches, Weston-super-Mare actually has the lowest average house prices during the past 12 months.

Perhaps the house prices are lower than you might expect due to it being such a tourist hotspot.

Whatever the reason, the average house price in the town in the previous year was £219,974, the lowest of the major Somerset coastal towns, and less than the national average of £248,000.

Burnham-on-Sea

Another seaside resort loved by summer visitors, Burnham-on-Sea has grown into one of the major coastal towns near Bristol.

The average house price in the town in the previous year was more expensive than Weston-super-Mare, at £237,335.

House prices have grown with the popularity of the town, with the last year seeing an average price of £331,101.

Portishead

On the outskirts of Bristol, Portishead is the coastal town with the highest average house price near Bristol during the past 12 months.

Now considered something of a dormitory town to Bristol, average house prices there over the last year reached £356,894.

The prices were provided by RightMove charting the average price of sold properties over the last 12 months, and are correct as of June 3, 2020.
