The Chase viewers blown away by player's incorrect answer

The Chase viewers were blown away by a contestant responding to a question incorrectly despite hearing the answer.

Bradley welcomed another round of hopefuls ready to take on The Chaser. Their opponent today was Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace who was kind to today's players after an unfortunate moment of brain fog left his first competitor embarrassed.

Trainee lecturer Matt was first up to the plate but only managed to take back £2,000 to his team. He proved in the head to head that his trivia knowledge wasn't to be scoffed at, but an unfortunate slip-up didn't go unnoticed by viewers.

During the cash builder round, Bradley said: "What frothy coffee is named by the cloaks worn by Capuchin monks?" After a brief pause, Matt eventually responded with the incorrect answer, "latte."

The response ushered in a few giggles from the studio along with viewers who joked that it was unfortunate Matt didn't manage to pick up on the answer of cappuccino, despite it being so verbally prevalent in the question.

One viewer said: "As soon as he said latte I was straight on to Twitter." Whilst another added: "What type of coffee is named after the cloaks worn by capucine monks? Answers Latte... dear me."

Alongside a gif of a man looking confused, a third said: "Latte???" Finally, alongside a string of laughing emojis, a final added: "Not a latte."

Despite the slip-up, Matt made it back to his team and was a force to be reckoned with during the final round. In the end, his team only managed to get 12 questions correct and where quickly disposed off by The Chaser.
