The Chase star Mark Labbett says he's 'not hungry anymore' as he talks about weight loss

An ITV star has opened up about his impressive weight loss journey. Mark Labbett, best known as The Beast on The Chase, said he doesn't feel "hungry anymore" whilst appearing on Steph's Packed Lunch.

The 57 year old appeared on the Channel 4 show earlier this week alongside his girlfriend Hayley Palmer where he spoke about his 10 stone weight loss. The quizzer told the host: "I'm not quite sure how I've done it."

"Obviously, [I'm a] Type 2 diabetic, so leading on from the previous one, slightly different. Obviously, I have the drugs that I have to take every day but that's it. I've never had a diabetic episode" reports The Daily Record.

He continued: "But I think I've lost some weight when I got hit by what was likely Covid. When I got hit you had to be practically the Prime Minister to get a test back then...And the main thing, I'm just not hungry anymore!"

The Chase personality keeps his fans updated on his weight loss journey through social media, and they frequently congratulate the star on his efforts. Mark recently tweeted: "Picking up my skinny suits sometime this week.

"DJ and two pieces, each 54 long jacket and 40/34 trousers. Will post photos when I get a chance to wear them at a gig #skinnybeast."

He went on to explain that his "shirts [are] down from 22-inch collar to 18.5" and mentioned that his previous suits were "58 long and 46/34." On Instagram, Mark revealed doctors had advised him that a gastric bypass or band wouldn’t work on him because “the sugar would go straight through it”.

He has also revealed he removed sugar from his diet after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2016.
