The Chase star Anne Hegerty opens up on relationship with 'legendary' co-star

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has paid tribute to her co-star Bradley Walsh branding him ‘legendary’.

Anne, who is known as The Governess on ITV show, has been part of the panel of Chasers since joining in 2010.

The 64-year-old has opened up about her favourite part of the show, but it isn't taking on contestants or putting her impressive general knowledge to the test.

Anne said her favourite thing about being part of the ITV show is working alongside host Bradley.

Speaking with The Express, she said: “Oh I have too many favourite things. Possibly working with Brad. He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.”

She added: "But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant.

“So it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for the chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”

Chaser Darragh Ennis, who joined the show in 2020 also said he loved working with Brad, as he said: "Oh it is so much fun!

"You know when you were in school and there was the kid that your mother told you not to sit beside, that was Brad, as a grown-up, he is like a giant child.

"He is just so much fun, I know there are some people on TV who have the character they adopt, but that is not him at all.

"He is that person and he is just having a laugh and it is so much easier to work with someone like that, I love having a laugh and making fun of each other."

Since becoming popular on the show, Anne has appeared in shows such as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, DNA Journey and Cooking with the Stars.

She recently admitted that she would love to follow in the footsteps of Bradley, who starred in Coronation Street and The Larkins, and show off her acting skills.

*The Chase continues week days at 5pm on ITV1.
