Bradley Walsh was defended by celeb contestant Naughty Boy, after being on the receiving end of a scathing dig from one of his co-stars on the ITV game show.
With Dancing on Ice done and dusted for another year, the 7pm slot on ITV's Sunday night schedule was left vacant, only to be filled by the latest of The Chase's Celebrity Specials. Music producer and former I'm A Celebrity contestant Naughty Boy was one of a team of four famous faces lined up, with the aim of trying to win as much money as possible for charity.
He was joined by comic and Strictly star Jayde Adams, former Leicester footballer Tony Cottee and Drag Race icon and recent Dancing on Ice finalist, The Vivienne. After Jayde crashed out against Chaser The Sinnerman and Tony made it through, it was down to Naughty Boy to try and avoid elimination.
Prior to facing quiz heavyweight The Sinnerman, Naughty Boy chatted to presenter Bradley about the inspiration for his stage name and how they lived quite close to one another and then, when addressing his opponent for the first time, The Sinnerman renmarked: "The best music producers can make anyone sound amazing," before sticking the knife in and adding: "If anyone knows that it's Bradley."
The much feared Chaser was alluding to Bradley's rather shirt-lived career as a chart star, which actually saw him score the biggest selling album by a UK artist in 2016 with his record Chasing Dreams, following it up a year later with second LP When You're Smiling.
Naughty Boy, who collaborated with Beyonce on massive chart hit Runnin, was quick to shut The Sinnerman's jab down, as he retorted: "But Bradley had a number 1 album recently," as Bradley glanced across at his co-star with his arms folded.
Having successfully answering questions on the likes of Pinocchio and onion bhajis, Naughty Boy then got a string of wrong answers, and ended up making an early exit, following an incorrect answer about children's TV series The Klangers.
